Date: 3/09/14
Distance: ~19 miles
Today was a long distance hike with the GSHAG group. Unfortunately I've waited nearly a month to record the hike, so my memory has faded.
This was a shuttle hike. We left a car at big creek and drove to Mt Sterling Gap to begin the hike. The first 1.8 miles up Mt Sterling trail was tough with a steep slope. Once on top of the mountain, the trail was less extreme. The hike down was extreme. There were several stream crossings. I hit the ground on one of them and had to remove my boots on at least on crossing
The final few miles on Big Creek was drudgery as it was a gravel road that just kept going.
